X-ray (radiography) is medicine’s oldest and most familiar imaging method — and still often the fastest way to answer a clinical question. It uses a brief burst of radiation to picture bones, joints and internal tissues, commonly evaluating fractures, arthritis and chest conditions.
Walk-in convenience
X-rays are performed at nine RMI offices across mid and southeast Michigan, and most accept walk-ins — no appointment needed. It’s one of the quickest exams in medicine: you’re typically in and out in minutes.
What is fluoroscopy?
Fluoroscopy is a live-action movie X-ray. It lets radiologists watch internal processes in real time — swallowing studies, joint injections and guided procedures — and is central to many of RMI’s interventional radiology treatments.
Your first step, not necessarily your last
Because X-ray is fast and simple, physicians often use it as an initial evaluation. If it raises a question that needs a closer look, RMI can follow up immediately with CT, MRI or ultrasound — usually at the same office, with your images and report flowing to your physician through one connected record.
