RMI provides a range of neuro-interventional procedures to diagnose and treat spine disorders — osteoporosis, tumors, compression fractures, infections and chronic back pain — using image guidance rather than open surgery.
Diagnostic procedures
- Myelography with post-myelographic CT — contrast-enhanced imaging of the spinal cord to find disease or injury
- Spinal biopsy — image-guided needle sampling to test for cancer in the spinal column
- Discography with manometry — studying the condition of spinal discs with contrast, CT and pressure measurement
- Disc aspiration biopsy — X-ray-guided tissue sampling to test discs for infection
Pain management procedures
- Epidural steroid injections — X-ray-guided steroid delivery to relieve pain from inflamed spinal nerves
- Nerve or facet blocks — targeted injections that relieve pain originating in or traveling through spinal nerves and joints
- Vertebral augmentation (vertroplasty/kyphoplasty) — for osteoporotic compression fractures
Because these procedures are guided by live imaging, medication reaches exactly the right spot — more precise, more comfortable, and with faster recovery than alternative approaches.
