Rapid Screening Breast MRI
A few minutes — and up to 4–6 years earlier detection

Rapid Screening Breast MRI — also called Fast Breast MRI or abbreviated breast MRI — is designed for women with 50% or greater breast tissue density (heterogeneous or extremely dense). Since 2015, Michigan law has required your doctor to notify you of your breast density, because dense breasts make it harder to spot problems on mammograms.
Why it matters
MRI can spot potential cancers at far smaller sizes — and 4–6 years earlier than standard mammograms, a difference expected to dramatically increase survival. While a diagnostic breast MRI can take up to 24 minutes, the rapid screening version takes only a few minutes and costs less.
Comfort comes standard
You’ll lie comfortably face down with no breast compression — a position that significantly reduces claustrophobia. There is no radiation, and the gadolinium contrast is given in very small quantities. It’s also an excellent screening option for women who may be pregnant and for women with breast implants, where MRI can detect implant rupture.
