For your next PET/CT, skip the hospital. RMI is the only independent imaging center in Michigan with a permanent, fixed indoor PET/CT scanner — housed in our new Advanced Imaging Center in Flint. That means standardized image quality, a calmer outpatient setting, less waiting, and appointments available five days a week.
What is PET/CT?
A PET/CT scan combines two imaging technologies in one exam. The PET portion uses a small amount of radioactive tracer that circulates through your bloodstream, showing how tissues and organs are functioning over time. The CT portion uses X-rays to capture precise pictures of your body’s structure. Fused together, the images show both what an organ looks like and how it behaves — information neither technology provides alone.
How PET/CT is used
- Oncology: detecting, staging and monitoring cancer treatment response, with the most recent specialized radiotracers to improve tumor detection and guide treatment
- Cardiology: evaluating blood flow and heart muscle viability
- Neurology: selected brain studies
Expertise you can trust
